SSTR is NO-kill, non profit organization that rescues, rehabilitates and provides sanctuary care for toy breed
dogs (an on some occasions larger breeds and cats). Our main focus is rescuing puppy mill and kill shelter dogs.  
Because we don't KILL and we rescue dogs that require long term rehabilitation, this means we always have a
large number of dogs in our care and in a lot of cases dogs live out the rest of their life in our rescue sanctuary.  

Our organization is not funded by city/county, state or federal government, we operate on donations alone.
We can't continue to provide a safe haven for abused, neglected and abandoned dogs without YOUR HELP!

Food is one of our most costly expenses, next to veterinary healthy care. Because we constantly have a large number of dogs in our
sanctuary care, we go through high volumes of food.  We are currently feeding over 50 lbs of dog food per day.
